Kote: Hand position

The hand position for Kote Gaeshi is a fundamental that every CQB fighter needs to train.  You can disarm your enemy with this grip.  You can put him into a dynamic throw if he is moving.  You can fold him and take him to the ground if his attack is more static.  Regardless of what your enemy offers, once you get your hand in place, you can wreck his arm from wrist to shoulder very easily.  Once you lock him up you can get him to move where you wish, most often into the line of attack coming from one of his buddies.  This is a very useful technique against multiple attackers.  Once you lock him up...

...go to work.
